My Children’s First Firearm

I thought it was time to buy my daughter her first rifle. She’s 9, and a very responsible child. I also included my son in the gift because he will eventually be bequeathed the rifle when his sister outgrows it. On top of that, it’s made in the USA and even sold at Wal Mart www.crickett.com

Firearm Review — Ruger SR9C — Compact Excellence

I apologize for the issue on this video as I was trying to do an audio swap on this and apparently hosed the video – to see the fixed/original video, please go here — www.youtube.com In the first and (as of 5/7/10) ONLY real review of the Ruger SR9c, I give my thoughts on the absolutely outstanding new compact 9mm from Ruger Firearms. This beauty is the little brother to the original/full size Ruger SR9. With a 3.5 inch barrel, a shorter grip, 2 standard mags –1 10 round, 1 17 round — and a separate mag plate for the 10 round mag with a pinky extension, this little guy is an absolutely amazing value in a very compact package. You can get one of these (if you can actually find one as they are selling quite well) for about 400 bucks. Ruger has really done it again with this one. This is the first real review of the Ruger SR9C on YouTube and I am proud to bring it to you all!!! MrJimboFox recommended!!! “Supremacy” and its logo ™ MJF Productions.

A celebrity piece in my collection and my first choice for responding to the bump in the night. I’m a huge fan of Ruger firearms, also owning an LCP and 22/45 Mark III. This is a clip of the Ruger SP101 launching some handloads I measured out to see what the SP101 could handle. This is a solid firearm.

SKS Model D – Why clean your firearm after use? (esp. after using corrosive ammo?)

I just watched Hickok45’s video ( youtu.be ) about cleaning his AK and so I thought I would post this video to reinforce some of his great his comments and suggestions to always clean your rifles after use (even if it is an AK – or in this case it’s first cousin the SKS). BTW, if you have not seen the AK dirt videos by Sturmgewehre on the Military Arms Channel you need to watch them : www.youtube.com and: Staring at 5:00 : www.youtube.com So … I purchased this SKS D from a private seller at a gun show for too much cash. I always wanted an SKS “D” model so I could use AK mags and stock 7.62×39 in mags for AK or SKS (instead of stripper clips). The firearm had been used with corrosive ammo and it took me 5 hours to clean it up and get the rust off it. I sent the carrier and bolt to Murray Gunsmith in Bowie TX for a new firing pin w/spring and a trigger job as-well. I will post the results of the Murray job after it returns in a few weeks. I’m expecting he Murray work should cost just under 0 with all the extras on the trigger. Note that the extra for the Murray Gunsmith work is related to the trigger work NOT the bolt. Here is Murray’s web site: www.murraysguns.com In the video I incorrectly said the extra was related to the bolt. According to the SKS Boards forum (www.sksboards.com the SKS D is: “SKS‑D: 20-inch barrel, standard stock, detachable bayonet, without striper clip guide, and serial numbers starting with 88 (having 7-8 digits). Some of the components

Visit Cheaper Than Dirt.com: bit.ly The SR9c compact pistol weighs in at 23.40 oz. and features an overall length of 6.85″, a height of 4.61″, and the same slim 1.27″ grip width (across safety levers) as the full-sized SR9. It comes with two magazines that provide options in both capacity and grip size. The standard magazine holds 10 rounds and features a flat bottom butt plate; a finger grip extension floor plate is also included. The second magazine features a grip adapter and holds 17 rounds, instantly transforming the smaller, compact grip into a full-sized 9mm grip. The 3.50″ barreled pistol features an integral accessory rail that accommodates most lights and lasers. The SR9c compact pistol utilizes the same adjustable, high-visibility 3-Dot sight system as its full-sized predecessor, setting it apart from many compact pistols that rely on fixed sights. New serrations are located on the front portion of the slide, making it easier to both manipulate the slide and to press check the chamber. The SR9c is available with a glass-filled nylon frame and through-hardened slide in either a brushed stainless or blackened finish. State compliant variations are available where necessary and ship with two 10-round magazines. Just like the original, full-sized SR9, the SR9c is loaded with modern safety features like a 1911-style ambidextrous manual safety, internal trigger bar interlock and striker blocker, trigger safety, magazine disconnect, plus a visual and tactile loaded
